New findings shed some light on the mystery of the Amphipolis Tomb.
After removing soil in the third chamber, three sections of a marble gate have been uncovered. The gate is made from Thassos marble, just like the rest of the pieces in the find, while according to archaeologists the discovery is certainly a tomb.
It is also referred to a “standard form of Macedonian, Greek tomb”.
The door “hinge” has also been discovered.
The soil of the third chamber also held a find of bronze and iron nails.
