The book which includes series of interview transcripts of former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, entitled Vermächtnis – die Kohl-Protokolle (“Legacy – the Kohl Transcripts”), will be published this week without Kohl’s consent this week. The book contains Kohl’s angriest thoughts recorded in 2001 and 2002 about his colleagues in the Christian Democratic Union.

Former Chancellor Helmut Kohl talks about top executives of Christian Democratic Union and ridicules Angela Merkel by saying that she could not eat with a knife and fork.

“Ms Merkel couldn’t even hold her fork and knife properly” he said adding that “She hung around at state dinners so that I had to repeatedly tell her to pull herself together,”.

Helmut Kohl was Merkel’s mentor and they developed a really close relationship over the years.

However, their good relationship ended up, when German Chancellor distanced herself from Kohk when he had to resign because of a financial scandal. Instead of supporting him, she was one of the first people who wrote against him and asked for his resignation and people said that Merkel was one of those who destroyed Kohl.
