Greek inflation second lowest in the EU in September

The inflation rate in the Eurozone dropped to 0.3% in September from 0.4% in August, according to EU executive's statistics office

Greek inflation rate was recorded at -1.1% in September, the second lowest inflation rate in the European Union after Bulgaria (-1.4%), according to Eurostat data published today in Brussels.

Based on the EU executive’s statistics office, the inflation rate in the Eurozone dropped to 0.3% in September from 0.4% in August noting the lowest rate since October 2009.

In the EU, the inflation rate fell to 0.4% in September from 0.5% in August, which is the lowest rate since September 2009.

The countries that recorded negative inflation apart from Greece and Bulgaria are Hungary (-0.5%), Spain (-0.3%), Poland (-0.2%), Italy, Slovenia and Slovakia (-0.1% each), while the highest inflation rates were recorded for Romania (1.8%), Finland (1.5%) and Austria (1.4%).
