Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis announced a reduction of the single property ENFIA tax in 2015 so that revenue from the tax steadily subsides to below 1% of the GDP from 1.43% in its first year of application. This means that the tax burden for property-owning taxpayers will gradually be reduced by 30%.
Tax revenue for ENFIA this year will be at 2 billion euros from 2.65 billion euros initially estimated before it was found that a portion of citizens had been overtaxed.
Large-membered families, homes without electricity and other people who are privy to an exemption will be able to see their new ENFIA amounts from October 26-27.
An application for the correction of E9 errors will be opened to the public vai taxisnet over the coming days and will be available until November 30.
