Democratic Left (DIMAR) leader Fotis Kouvelis called for political forces of the country to agree on the best for the country, during his address on Saturday at his party’s central committee which convenes to elect DIMAR’s new secretary and executive committee.
“The disengagement from the memorandum can’t exist with an alleged ‘easy’ recourse to the markets. The disengagement from the memorandum can’t exist through its abolition by law” he said adding that “easy and magical solutions do not exist, only just and efficient solutions. The need for a substantial re-negotiation with our partners exists along with the potential for different reforms in the fields of the interior policy that will reduce the inequalities and will modernize the country” he underlined.
Referring to the political stability, Mr. Kouvelis said that “political stability means that we leave behind old habits of the clientele State’.
On the presidential elections he underlined that “the presidential elections procedure should not turn into a tool of petty political planning”.
