Her lawyer announced today that the young British-Iranian woman was sentenced to one year in prison, for wanting to watch an international male volleyball match between Iran and Italy.

The 25 year old woman was arrested back on the 20^th of June for taking part in a women’s movement, which wanted to watch the men’s volleyball match.

Her family had been campaigning on social networking sites for her release and had asked for help from the British Foreign Office.
