The German newspaper Bild published a survey by an international condom manufacturer to rank the msot sexually active countries in the world. The study inquired about the importance that citizens in each countries placed on sex and the duration and amount of sexual encounters. The result showed that Greece is a cesspool of sexual activity with its citizens not only enjoying a lot of sex but also the typical sexual encounter lasting 24-minutes, 2 minutes ahead of Nigeria, the second-longest. Greeks scored highly on all counts with 80% of the population considering sex to be highly relevant to their lives.

It seems that an economic crisis doesn’t necessarily mean less sex, whereas heat is more conducive to sex than wintry climates. It was found that the average Japanese person had only 48 sexual encounters per year.

1. Greece – 164 encounters per year
2. Brazil – 145 encounters per year
3 & 4. Russia and Poland – 143 encounters per year
5. India – 130 encounters per year
6. Mexico – 123 encounters per year
7. Switzerland – 123 encounters per year
8 & 9. China & New Zealand- 122 encounters per year
10. Italy – 122 encounters per year
