Conservative New Democracy (ND) MP Dimitris Avramopoulos tendered his resignation on Monday in a letter to parliament president Evangelos Meimarakis.
Mr. Avramopoulos resignation from the post of Defence Minister is due to his assumption of duties as European Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs.
Thanassis Plevris will take Mr. Avramopoulos’ parliamentary seat.
