Newsroom November 6 10:47

During his visit in Cyprus the Greek Prime Minister stated that “Unfortunately Turkey once again chose to follow a policy that has nothing o do with the International Law”, while assured that Greece follows with prudence and sobriety the situation that has been created and fully supports the decision of the President of the Republic Mr.  Nikos Anastasiadis, to suspend its participation in the talks to solve the Cyprus issue, until better conditions.

At  dinner hosted by Mr. Anastasiadis in Nicosia, Mr. Antonis Samaras expressed his hope for Turkey to work in order to provide these better conditions.

At the same time the Greek Prime Minister referred to the current situation and stressed the imperative need for regional consultation and isolation of those who interfere.

From his side, the President of Cyprus while referring to the dangerous Turkish behavior stressed that the timing that Turkey chose to follow the practice of escalating tension over a period of geopolitical upgrade of the Republic is not  accidental .

Further, Mr. Anastasiadis stated that the natural wealth of Cyprus belongs to its legal inhabitants, Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.

Mr. Samaras in an interview to a Cypriot TV channel stated that “In international politics is not enough to be right, you have to have adequate supports in order to find your right”.
