A fire broke out at the basement of the 4th unit of the Ptolemaida power plant late on Sunday, following a fire in cables carrying a current earlier the same morning. The Kozani Fire Brigade said that 12 fire engines and 25 firemen remain on the scene, while the head of the plant stressed that there would be no problem with the power supply. The 4th unit was not in operation due to repairs, over the last three days and was due to go back online on Monday however it is doubtful if it will operate at again at any time soon. As a precaution, after the fire, the 3rd unit was taken off line.
