Barbara Mitsoni, the 27-year-old niece of the Asteras Tripolis football team chief Yiannis Kaymenakis and daughter of the general manager of the team Tasos Mitsonis was released by her captors after she was abducted at 10.30 p.m. on October 31 from outside her house in Ano Kypseli. 10 million euros were saught for her release, however the family ended up paying 82,500 euros.

The woman, a nursing student, was on her way to work at a nightclub in Daphne. The kidnappers lay waiting for her. An eyewitness said that four men wearing hoods dragged the woman into a van though she cried for help.
