Pink Floyd says farewell with “The Endless River”

It includes leftovers from their recording of "The Division Bell", where 3 out of the four can be heard

Newsroom November 10 06:25

Pink Floyd has a new album coming out. It is not original material, however, consisting of leftovers from their recording sessions in 1994 during “The Division Bell” era. Guitarist David Gilmour says that the band listened through 20 hours of material and found it “magical” enough to make them want to use it again. “The Division Bell” included drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Rick Wright, who died in 2008. Pink Floyd’s fourth original member, however, bassist Roger Waters, dropper out of the group in 1985 and has not reunited with his former band due to a series of disputes and disagreements. Waters did not participate in recording “The Division Bell” in 1994 either.

He stated, obviously annoyed:

“I don’t have an album coming out. David Gilmour and Nick Mason have an album coming out. It’s called ‘Endless River.’ David and Nick constitute the group Pink Floyd. I on the other hand, am not part of Pink Floyd. I left Pink Floyd in 1985. That’s 29 years ago. I had nothing to do with either of the Pink Floyd studio albums, ‘Momentary Lapse of Reason’ and ‘The Division Bell,’ nor the Pink Floyd tours of 1987 and 1994, and I have nothing to do with ‘Endless River.’ Phew! This is not rocket science people, get a grip.”
