Social Democrat Alliance (SDSM), FYROM’s main opposition party led by Zoran Zaev, characterized as absurd on Monday the position expressed by Greek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Evangelos Venizelos regarding the name dispute.
More specifically, in a party press release, SDSM said that Greece’s position in favor of a compound name with a geographical qualifier, for internal and external use, erga omnes, is an absurd demand that doesn’t bring the two countries towards the solution of the name issue.
FYROM’s main opposition party also stressed that with his positions, the Greek Foreign Minister shows that instead of being guided by European policies from the 21st century, Greece lives in the past.
