In recent years, Greece attracts more and more Chinese tourists, which was also reinforced by the recent summer arrivals. The vertical rise in tourism gave the green light to private tourism operators and public Chinese officials to strengthen their bonds to Greece and open up the market relations.

According to Capital, a series of contacts between private and state Chinese tourism operators and their Greek counterparts, will begin on Friday, in Athens. The one-to-one meetings will take place during a two-day forum organized by the Chinese side and aiming towards the bilateral tourism flow with Beijing.

Greek tourism entrepreneurs believe that Chinese tourists can help expand the Greek tourist seasons since Chinese new year takes place from the end of January until February, which are off-days for many Chinese people, as well as the first week of October, which is China’s national holiday.

A leading role in the two-day forum will be taken up by Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development. The forum will also be attended by China Commercial International Travel Service, Hualiu Culture, Beijing Top View Holiday, China Youth Travel Association, China Harmony Travel Service and other big Chinese tourism operators and organizations.
