Archbishop Ieronymos is the first choice for the position of head of the humanitarian program that SYRIZA plans to implement as new government.

According to reliable sources,  contacts and discussions between the two sides are already at an advanced stage, while a cooperation between Attica region and Metropolis is expected to begin.

The close personal and family relationship between the leader of SYRIZA and Archbishop Ieronymos as well as the mutual respect from one to the other is no secret.

The two have met and discussed many times, enough to understand that the left, at least SYRIZA and the church have a common aim, which is no other than fighting against poverty and to offer humanitarian aid to people in need due to crisis.
