A conference on safe web  surfing was  organized and launched by the Department of Electronic Crime at the Athens Concert Hall in the presence of the Minister of Public Order and Citizen Protection Mr. Vasilis Kikilias.

The conference took place almost all day yesterday with the title  “Safe web surfing is everyone’s responsibility” and was addressed to students with disabilities and children with special educational needs.

Many distinguished personalities were present at the conference, including the Deputy chief of the Greek Police Lieutenant Papaspyrou Spyridon, the Director of the General Police Directorate of Attica Major Kostantinos Michairinas, the Director of Economic Police Major General Yiannis Diamantopoulos and the Police Director of Athens Brigadier Arkoumanis Georgios.

The presentation made by the Director of Electronic Crime Brigadier Emmanuel Sfakianakis with specialized officers of the Agency and scientists, while the audience was composed by a hundred of students of the Specialized High School – Lyceum of Athens and the Special High School – Lyceum of Ilion and their teachers.

At the same time they presented the new application CYBERKID which enables children to communicate directly and in real time, in case of danger or threat with  the Department of Electronic Crime by following A touch screen call process «Cyber Alert».
