After yesterday’s vote, scenarios in parliament are circulating around the rumor mill.
Only 160 votes garnered by Stavros Dimas yesterday was a clearly lower number than what PM Antonis Samaras expected, who is now accepting proposals for his next moves, looking at two objectives:
-A president to be elected during the third round.
-The avoid premature national elections which may lead to an immediate collapse of the country, if lenders realize their threats against a possible SYRIZA government.
In this context, the solution which seems to be arising and standing out among suggestions is the establishment of a special purpose government. This is a scenario that is gaining momentum in recent times, although both Antonis Samaras and Alexis Tsipras appear to have rejected.
