In a meeting that took place yesterday between Macedonia-Thrace Minister George Orfanos and Finnish Ambassador in Athens Pauli Makela, the prospects of a closer cooperation between the two countries in tourism were discussed.
Mr. Orfanos stated that the relations between Greece and Finland are already at an exceptional level. In regard to the issues discussed during the meeting, the minister said that the main focus was on possible investments in the framework of the 3908/2011 development law, handled by the ministry, as well as in other sectors such as infrastructure, primary production, and tourism.
“All these sectors can bring Greece and Finland closed,” Mr. Orfanos noted.
The Finnish ambassador said that approximately 200,000 Finns visit Greece every year and estimated that their number could be increased in 2015.
