According to data released by STR Global, Greece ranks first in Europe in terms of hotel occupancy increase and revenue-per-available-room growth in November 2014.
More specifically, the data on the performance of the European hotel industry showed that Athens rose 15.3% to 61.5%, reporting the largest occupancy increase.
Two other markets also reported double-digit occupancy increases: Lisbon, Portugal (+12.2% to 65.5%), and Budapest, Hungary (+10.5 to 65.2%).
The Greek capital is also first among the three markets that report RevPAR increases of more than 15.0%. More specifically, Athens experienced an 17.6% increase to EUR56.54, followed by Budapest (+17.5% to EUR42.46); and Lisbon (+15.8% to EUR53.31)
