After Broadway, the public will enjoy a collage of fairy tales that includes lots of music and many stars on the big screen. Composer Steven Sondheim and writer/director James Lapine sarcastically deconstructed well-known fairy tales, producing one of the most revolutionary musicals that Broadway has ever seen. The result was the creatively courageous musical “Into the Woods” which premiered on Broadway in November 1987, winning three Tony awards and touring the globe.
