Kobani in the hands of Kurdish fighters

They control the whole of the administrative center

ISIS islamists have lost ground in the Kurdish town of Kobani, Syria, which they only control 20% of. According to the Syrian Human Rights Observatory, an NGO, the Kurdish peoples’ units who have been fighting against the jihadists for four months now, are in control of all of the administrative center.

In particular, Kurds occupied the zone after heavy fighting on Sunday night, while at least 14 jihadists were killed in the conflict. Earlier, the international coalition against ISIS performed at least eight air raids in Kobani within 24 hours.

 

ISIS has been trying to take over Kobani since mid-September, since that would give them control of a big area between Syria and Turkey. In October, ISIS had managed to take over 50% of the town.
