Mr. Tsipras noted that the scare tactics have come to an end thanks to the European institutional officials, European governments, the international press and top international economists. He said that Mr. Samaras and the “darkest European perpetrators of austerity” are the only ones that “insist on the fairytale with the dragons.”

SYRIZA party headquarters released a text of 5 pylons and 12 points responding to Mr. Samaras claims, stating that there was an attempt to “trick citizens as had been done with Zappeia 1 and 2 with 18 points of negotiation prior to the elections of 2012. Mr. Tsipras pointed out that 2015 is not like 2012.

Furthermore, he reiterated that SYRIZA is aiming for a majority government to reflect democracy, the people’s will and the power for a debt negotiation with the country’s international creditors.

The main opposition leader pledged that his party is determined to share responsibilities, unlike parties of the past. He said that SYRIZA will place peole in key positions based on their efficiency, honesty and selflessness. “On January 26, there will be a government of social salvation and recovery, a government for all Greeks,” he said.

Mr. Tsipras also cast the spotlight on some points of his party’s program that include the implementation of a National Agricultural Policy and bringing back the tax-free threshold. He said that young farmers would be supported through the investment bank and guaranteed farmers pensions. Mr. Tsipras also said taht no first home foreclosures would take place causing homes to pass into the hands of banks.

Mr. Tsipras was critical of Mr. Samaras’ stance on the terrorist attacks in Paris, accusing him of using the tragedy for propaganda. Mr. Tsipras condemned the Paris acts and expressed his strong support to the French people.
