Venizelos: PASOK is the country's cast-iron guarantee

According to Deputy PM E. Venizelos “polls consistently show that SYRIZA will be the first party as far as percentages are concerned, though it won't be strong enough to rule on its own. In that case, it is easily understandable that a counterweight is most necessary”

Newsroom January 13 10:45

Socialist PASOK Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos launched an attack against both the conservative New Democracy leadership and the main opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) party while at the same time placing a series of dilemmas for citizens to continue.

He accused the conservatives of trying to intimidate voters and SYRIZA for trying to impose complacency.

“The moment of truth has arrived,” he said, adding that on January 25 “the people freely, dominant and with dignity will judge what party will be the next government and what policy to follow as well as the course of the country.

Mr. Venizelos acknowledged the heavy burden that PASOK had to carry and further acknowledged that citizens are lost “within the slander, the lies and the conspiracy theories”, concluding that “the moment of truth has arrived and lies have come to an end.” Among other things, Mr. Venizelos stressed that PASOK is the country’s cast-iron guarantee.
