Upon his arrival at the Eurogroup meeting, the German finance minister told the press that it is still too early to make any statements with regard to the new coalition government and added that Europe must wait and see what the next steps of SYRIZA and ANEL will be.

In the meantime, Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem said the Eurogroup is ready to cooperate with the new Greek government on the basis of common rules and agreements and to support it.

Asked about the Greek public debt issue, he also stated the following on Monday: “We have done a lot to relieve it… We will return to the sustainability issue after the end of the fifth evaluation.”
