The administration of the Greek public transport system reviewed the Passengers Rights Regulations to allow for compensation in cases where passengers have been unfairly treated on the Athens transport system.
Passengers will be able to be compensated with tickets worth up to 30 euros in cases of mistreatment by an employee or lack of service. The compensation will only be given in cases where the employee responsible for the passengers ill-treatment passes through a disciplinary committee and is found guilty.
Complaints will be addressed within 30 days. Most complaints concern buses and trolleys that cover 12,000 routes per day and are the ones with direct contact between drivers and passengers.
