Bavaria’s Christian Social Union (CSU), a longtime partner of Germany’s Christian-Democrats, on Saturday urged an end to Berlin’s funding of Greece through the bailout program, a day after somewhat “strained” contacts between the radical leftist government in Greece with the Eurogroup chief.

According to the CSU, Varoufakis’ statements entail a “challenge match” with the rest of Europe, with one CSU MP saying the SYRIZA “crossed the red line”.
