Starting today, and lasting two weeks, Greece will have to go through a veritable gauntlet. Today’s emergency Eurogroup and February’s “normal” Eurogroup” meeting are two of the stops the country will have to make to reach a deal with EU partners.
At the same time, Greek banks are in need of renewing the financing extension on the 18th of February. The “crucial date” is the 28th, however, when the current financing program ends officially. Until then, a new one needs to be voted in, and according to current data, it will be named something completely different.
The crucial dates:
Wednesday the 11th of February – Eurogroup emergency meeting – Transitional (Bridge) Loan
Thursday the 12th of February – Meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel
Monday the 16th of February – Eurogroup meeting – Ultimatum on tabling a proposal, ends
