“Let there be a strong wind stemming from fish farms towards the whole country!”, “Let all officers’ wives become their helpers!”. “Let us turn North Korea into a socialist fairytale through the joint cooperation of military and the people!”.
North Korea released a catalogue of over 300 new political mottos in order to celebrate 70 years since the establishment of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and the liberation of the Korean peninsula from the Japanese.
The slogans which number to more than 7,000 words, take over two pages in the big government newspaper. They call on the people to improve in a wide variety of sectors, such as “wearing school uniforms with more style” and “cultivate organic products”.
The new slogans also include several pieces hostile to the country’s enemies, such as South Korea and the USA: “If the enemy dares to invade, kill them all so that none are alive to sign their surrender”.
Some of them even include very specific guidelines to industry: “Let us turn the country into a mushroom -cultivation country, basing it on science, rigorous and industrial cultivation!”.
This run-down country has promised for years to improve on the living standards of its people since it is plagued from lack of food, lack of electricity and from the international sanctions imposed on it.
