German Chancellor Angela Merkel used a conference on “innovation” in Berlin on Monday to skewer any idea of “creative ambiguity” in the text of a last-minute deal between the Eurogroup and the Greek government last month.
The curious quip was used by none other than Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis to characterize the text, when speaking to the local press.
True to form, Merkel called on Athens to better clarify its proposals and ideas.
“Greece must now be clear on its reform proposals,” she said, before also calling for closer economic policy by member-states.
