The biggest Spanish-language network in the US announced that Emmy Award-winning host and presenter Rodner Figueroa has been fired for remarks on Wednesday against First Lady Michelle Obama.

While many snapshots with the face of Michelle Obama were shown during Wednesday’s show “El Gordo y La Flaca”, in order to present different styles she adopted in recent years, the Venezuelan host Rodner Figueroa said on air that “Michelle Obama looks like she’s part of the cast of ‘Planet of the Apes’.”

In less than 24 hours the network’s management strongly condemned the quip and said Figueroa was fired.
