Fans of ethnic cuisine are constantly seeking out unique tastes. They can now enjoy such in the Ethiopian restaurant in the central Athens district of Kypseli. The restaurant, named “Lalibela” after the Ethiopian city, has been in business since 2000, offering a variety of exotic tastes from the African’s cuisine.
A characteristic of the cuisine is that no one uses cutlery… it’s a “hands on” experience.
Flat bread, as well as the spicy tastes tinged with cardamom and rosemary, along with heaps of fresh butter, make the experience unique. The restaurant’s specialty is a “Doro wet” chicken with boiled eggs and fried beef dips. There is also a variety of vegetable plates for vegetarians.
All this is accompanied by sounds from Ethiopia and strong, traditional black coffee served right after dinner.
