In a post he uploaded on the blog of the Movement of Active Citizens, SYRIZA MEP Manolis Glezos, said on Sunday that his party never likened Merkel to Hitler.

Glezos, best known for his participation in the World War II resistance, expressed his concerns over the climate of “discord, intolerance and hostility” that exists between Greece and Germany.

“This climate could lead to extreme nationalist behaviors,” the MEP warned, noting that such a development could harm the talks between Greece and its European partners.

Moreover, Manolis Glezos said that the issue of the World War II reparations owed to Greece by Germany is still open, despite Wolfgang Schaeuble’s recent statements that it has been resolved.
