✈ New generation of women living abroad
I started the Athens community in May of 2014 because I know what is like to be new in a foreign city and how important it is to have good girl friends around you who can relate and support you. I am from the USA and when I moved here to be with my boyfriend, it was very difficult for me to meet people because I worked at home. Through facebook (meet-ups) I have made some wonderful friendships and can’t imagine what I would have done without having a platform like this available to me. The Athens GGI events have been going strong for about a year now and I have heard nothing but good things from the girls that have joined in on the fun. I’m so happy to see the friendships that have formed and the size of our group growing.
Each month we plan at least one event and all of our members are invited. Girl Gone International gatherings are free, highly sociable, lively gatherings bringing together women in their 20s, 30s and early 40s usually for a few drinks in a private area, usually a bar or restaurant. On average about 15-25 girls usually attend the events and mingle, chat, laugh, meet each other, add to their circle, make friends, network.
Events are the perfect opportunity for newbies in the city to get out and start to make their own friends. Also for those who have come before to catch up with those they have met before, expand their circle, have a fun girls night out.
