The INHOPE Association was established to facilitate and improve cooperation and effectiveness of European operators hotlines to combat the illicit and illegal content on the Internet. The group’s statistics in Greece show a rise in child pornography, with 83,644 reports of illicit cyber material, up from 48,910 in 2013 and 33,821 in 2012. The figure marks a 63% increase.
98% of the complaints that the organization’s Greek chapter, Safeline, was passed onto the police and 93% of the illicit material was taken down within 72 hours.
The international organization has 48 open lines in 43 countries around the world.
