Late-night meeting between Greek govt, creditors concludes without deal

Negotiations to continue on Thurs.

Newsroom June 25 02:52

The latest late-night negotiation between institutional creditors and the Greek side in Brussels proved fruitless, with talks expected to continue on Thursday morning. No comments were made afterwards, either by Greek PM Alexis Tsipras nor by the other leaders, which included Jean-Claude Juncker, Christine Lagarde, Mario Draghi and Jeroen Dijsselbloem, amongst others.

The session ended at roughly 2 a.m. (CET). Earlier, a Eurogroup session lasted for less than an hour, with its sessions also expected to pick up on Thursday afternoon.

According to information gained by Proto Thema from the talks in the Brussels, differences between Athens and the institutional creditors include:

–Lack of a mutually acceptable to reference to the debt issue

–No agreement on the duration of the bailout extension, with the Greek side asking for six months and creditors offering three

–Disagreement over the date when early retirements will be cut
