Alt. Finance Minister Nadia Valavani told private ALPHA TV that the government issued an order to prohibit the withdrawal of cash from safety deposit boxes.
“If somebody wants to go to their safety deposit box they can take everything except cash,” she said.
The president of the Greek Banking Association Louka Katseli told ANA-MPA on Sunday that “the clients’ access to bank safety deposit boxes that they have in bank branches in Greece will be decided by the imminent Legislative Act. The content of the bank safe deposit boxes is a private asset and they only have access to them”.
