President of the European Council Donald Tusk warned of a revolution in Greece, if the country fails to implement the harsh fiscal measures agreed upon with the EU creditors during the EU-19 Summit a Monday, July 13. In an interview to Financial Times Tusk said he feared of political contagion: “I am really afraid of this ideological or political contagion, not financial contagion, of this Greek crisis,” said Tusk. He said that he felt the atmosphere was similar to the time before 1968 in Europe.

“I can feel, maybe not a revolutionary mood, but something like widespread impatience. When impatience becomes not an individual but a social experience of feeling, this is the introduction for revolutions”, he said.
