The Athens Exchange Market (ATHEX) will open on August 3, officials met at the Bank of Greece (BoG) Wednesday. The decision follows concerns raised by Greek Bank managers due to complications arising from parallel use of ‘new’ and ‘old’ cash in the Greek banking system. The decision allows foreign investors to buy and sell with no restrictions, while Greek investors will be permitted to use only the remaining available funds in the stock market codes. Greeks will be allowed to trade with a) stock sales, b) foreign cash transfer c) cash deposit and d) from remaining stock market codes. According to reports the decision is expected to be signed by Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos.
