Conservative New Democracy leader Vangelis Meimarakis addressed a gathering of ND’s women’s secretariat on Friday, a day after his party’s main campaign rally in Athens, whereby he launched into a stinging attack against the main rival, leftist Alexis Tsipras.
“Tsipras promised to abolish the property tax, yet he’s now ready to take the keys away”.
Every vote on Sunday is crucial and must be useful, he added.
“I don’t understand how democratic Greeks with common sense can waste their vote on neo-Nazi groups and parties for whom we don’t know how they will cooperate. No woman can underestimate the importance of her vote and let it be washed away by the River (Potami party) or the Independent Greeks’ (ad campaign) train,” he said.
