Fifteen anarchist members of the group, “Rubicon”, entered the headquarters of the Independent Greeks (ANEL) party that is a junior coalition partner with the government. They hung two banners with anti-austerity slogans from the rooftop, police said on Monday. The group also posted a statement claiming that the goal of this action was to protest against the austerity measures voted by the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA)-ANEL government that has given a “final blow to the poor”.
The slogans in the banners read: “No negotiation with the domestic and international capital” and “Resistance to new measures, everyone in the streets”.
The anarchist members were dispersed with the use of chemicals by police.
