A guided tour where you experience Greece as a blind person (vid)

What happens when the lights turn off? How is life in the dark? How is everyday life for thousands of our fellow citizens with visual impairments?

Newsroom October 28 08:27

Badminton Theater invites you to imagine life in the dark, through an exciting experience that will forever change the way you “see” things.

“Dialogue in the Dark”, an innovative happening with 7,000,000 visitors in over 30 countries, reverses the roles: guides with impaired or no vision accompany a group of visitors on a ride in the urban environment, in absolute dark. In the specially designated areas of the facility, visitors take a walk for a 80 minutes. This walk takes place in the dark, guided in a world without light, relying only on sounds, temperature and touch, with the help of blind guides that “become” our eyes. When the simplest activities suddenly turn into a challenge, you learn to see the world around you differently. At the exit, when the lights get switched on again, nothing is the same anymore.

“Dialogue in the Dark” is an initiative that changes one’s worldview as it exposes our stereotypes about diversity. “Dialogue in the Dark” invites us to discover, trust, and develop the power of our senses. It is an experience that should be experienced by all, adults and children.

Badminton Theater invites you to a “Dialogue in the Dark” and asks you to see the world through the eyes of others.

The visit to the facility is recommended for children aged 8 years and older.
