There will be no tranche disbursement at Euroworking group, EU sources say

Euroworking group teleconference scheduled to be held today was cancelled

Newsroom November 6 03:15

EU sources indicate that there are still many issues open and negotiations between the Greek government and Institutions should continue, meaning that the disbursement of the 2bln tranche would probably be postponed.

Greece has sent to the Institutions an update on the prior actions of the program, which will be reviewed throughout the weekend. Since, there are still many open issues, any agreement between Greece and its creditors in Euroworking group meeting, which could lead to the tranche disbursement, seems rather impossible.

Furthermore, the Euroworking group teleconference scheduled to be held today was cancelled, since according to sources, there was no reason to perform the teleconference given the fact that there is not enough clarity concerning the prior actions of the Greek program.

According to the same sources there are no essential changes or developments to justify a meeting before Monday’s Euroworking group, with many crucial issues open, such as the non-performing loans, auctioning of the first residence and VAT rate on education and gambling.

However, an official of Greek government told Bloomberg that he believed Greece and its creditors could reach an agreement by Monday.
