SWAT Team Chief Jean-Michel Fauvergue who led the raid on the Paris suburb of Saint Denis reserved special praise for the police dog, Diesel. “There’s little doubt he saved the lives of police officers,” he said, spearheading an internet frenzy as dogs around the world paid tribute to their hero.
He died while running into the raid equipped with a live dog cam that fed vital live footage.
