The final results of the conservative main opposition New Democracy (ND) party elections for a party leader on Sunday, December 22, won’t be available until Monday afternoon. New Democracy lawmaker Yiannis Tragakis, head of the party’s central committee (KEFE), announced that the official result will not be known until all faxes from voting centers have been received.
Tragakis says that according to the ND guidelines, the results cannot be announced until all the fax results have been received. He placed responsibility for delays on the committee groups of isolated regions that did not have facsimile machines in their possession so as to send results.
Asked about the percentage rates of candidates, Tragakis said that these have been announced.
