Candidate Vangelis Meimarakis appeared optimistic about the election results and voters’ participation. According to information, about 40,000 voters have already cast their vote.

After casting his vote, Mr. Meimarakis said “Today New Democracy celebrates” stressing that there are neither winners nor losers, but today wins democracy within New Democracy party.

Mr. Meimarakis sent yesterday a message of unity to New Democracy supporters via Twitter stressing that on Monday there will be neither winners nor losers. ” Together we will achieve a higher percentage than 28% with New Democracy being the winning party which will form a government”, he said adding “New Democracy is one party. It is a democratic, center-right, modern, liberal party. ”

Mr. Meimarakis will vote in the old Town Hall of Hymettus at 12:00 and afterwards he will make statements.
