Heavy rains, storms, hail and strong winds will mark the 3-day holiday period, according to an extraordinary meteorological report released by the Hellenic Meteorological Services. Athens saw rains on Saturday with the report warning of a further deterioration of weather conditions across the country, as temperatures are expected to drop substantially, and even snow forecast for some areas of the Greece. Sporadic storms and some cloudy patches are forecast for Sunday, while clean Monday will see cloudy patches with local rain falls and even some snow in the mountainous regions. The General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Interior Ministry has informed the local councils and competent state authorities to be on alert to deal with the worsening weather patters.
