Angelina Jolie visits refugees in Athens (pics+vid)

According to sources, Jolie will meet with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at 4pm at Maximos Mansion

American actress and UNHCR’s Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie arrived in Athens shortly after 10:00. Her private jet landed on Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos and according to sources Jolie will then head to Idomeni to visit the refugee camp.

The Hollywood star visited the port of Piraeus, where about 4,000 stranded refugees and immigrants are staying at passenger terminals. Then, Jolie visited the refugee camp at Elaionas.

Moreover, it is claimed that Jolie will meet with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at 4pm at Maximos Mansion.

Many international reporters have been gathered at refugee camps in Elaiona and Piraeus.

Jolie was expected to arrive on Tuesday night in Lesvos in order to visit the refugee camps in Moria and Kara Tepe. But, the flight plan submitted was cancelled yesterday evening and her arrival was rescheduled for Wednesday at 09.00 (local time).

However, the visit of UNHCR’s Goodwill Ambassador was finally cancelled, as UNHCR sources stated on Wednesday morning, which confirmed by sources of the Ministry for Migration Policy
