Greece’s creditors might be in Athens to resume talks with the Greek side on reaching a deal about the review of the country’s adjustment program, but so far the Monday’s rendezvous has been pushed back twice. The Greek side released a new announcement informing the press that the meeting, scheduled to start at 4 pm Monday would be postponed until 2 hours later at 6. However, it has not commenced, as the Greek Finance Ministry delegation has appeared at the designated hotel in central Athens. The Quartet (formerly Troika) is not scheduled to meet with Labour Minister George Katrougalos, as the two sides are far from reaching a compromise on the ancillary pension cuts, according to a Ministry official. Last night’s marathon 9-hour meeting ended without a deal, with Greek Economy Minister George Stathakis estimating that so far there was only some agreement on the issue of taxation, while Financial Minister Euclid Tsakalotos said the two sides had agreed on the tax free threshold at 9,100 Euros.
