The royal couple enjoyed a romantic mountain hike to one of the most spectacular Buddhist monasteries during their fifth day of their tour of India and Bhutan.

They visited Paro Taktsang, the Tiger’s Nest monastery which dates to
 1692.

The monastery is located near the cave where Guru Padmasambhava – credited
with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan – meditated for three years, three
months, three weeks, and three days in the 8th century.

A spokesman said the couple is “thrilled” to be visiting such a
“magical place” adding that “will allow them to get a real sense of the natural and
spiritual beauty of the country”, as Mirror reports.

Prince William and Kate had a 90 minute drive until they got to the bottom of the mountain and continue their five hour walk towards the monastery accompanied by horses.
