The protest rally against the austerity measures that the omnibus bill brings is in progress in the center of Athens.
Strict security measures have been put in place with riot police being present in many points in the center, while the roads close to Omonoia Square and Stadiou street are closed.
The protest organized by PAME, labour union affiliated to Communist Party, has started and soon the demonstrators will reach Syntagma square, outside the Parliament.
The two main labour unions, General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) and the Greek Civil Servants’ Confederation (ADEDY), and Popular Unity have called Greeks to participate in the protests against the omnibus bill.
